In this article, you will learn how to install Windows 10 on your computer using a USB flash drive. This guide is fully intended to help you to perform a clean installation of Windows 10. Before we begin, first let's find out what the minimum requirements are to install Windows 10. Here's what Microsoft recommends!

Windows 10 System Requirements

Processor: 1 GHz or faster processor or SoC

RAM: 1 GB for the 32-bit version or 2 GB for the 64-bit version

Hard disk space: 16 GB for the 32-bit version or 20 GB for the 64-bit version

Graphics card: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver

Display: 800 x 600

You will also need a USB flash drive to carry the installation files. (preferably a USB flash drive with 8 GB of space or more) Note that this process will delete all of the data on your USB flash drive; make sure to create a backup of any important files you wish to preserve.

Other than this, you will need the ISO file of Windows 10 and a bootable USB creator software. You can download the Windows 10 ISO file for free from Microsoft. It doesn't come with a license; you can get one off Amazon or eBay.

The next thing you'll need is a software to prepare the bootable USB flash drive. For this purpose, we recommend using Win32 Disk Imager. You can download Win32DiskImager for free from its official website. It is an open-source software that runs on Microsoft Windows and Linux. Now let's get into the main task.

Using Win32 Disk Imager

1. First, install Win32 Disk Imager on your computer and launch it.

2. Then plug in the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

3. After that, go to the Win32 Disk Imager and select the drive letter of your plugged USB plugged drive.

4. Now, locate the ISO file.

5. Once you click on the "Start" button, the USB flash drive will be formatted, and the Windows 10 ISO file will be copied onto the USB flash drive. Once the process has finished, you can safely eject your USB flash drive from your computer.

Congratulations! Now you have created a bootable USB flash drive and we can go to the most difficult part of the installation. This is to change the boot order.

To do this, press the F12 key after turning on your computer and a boot menu will appear showing you the boot order. From there, select the USB as your primary boot device and the installation of Windows 10 will start.
